Robert Hessler

Four years after graduating from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan in 1991, I started working with clay. I felt an instantaneous connection and fascination with the materials and process and have been exploring ever since.

These endeavors became my full time vocation in 2000. Color, surface and form are my primary focuses, and an experimental motivation is my approach. My aim is to always try and surprise myself and come up with results that I find visually intriguing and exciting- a constant quest to discover something new.  My hope is that my work evokes curiosity and a sense of wonder in those who behold it.
